Two people who mean everything to me.
All through my youth I watched them. And by watching I learned so much.
I learned...
... how to resolve an argument.
... how to stick together when it gets hard
... how to serve others
... how to stick up for what's right
... how to be independent
... how to make tough decisions
... how to work hard
... how to be my best
... how to love someone with all your soul
...
You see, Mum and Dad, you taught me how to be strong. You lifted me up and carried me until I was able to support myself. From my infancy when you would support my head because I couldn't. When I would fall and scrape my knees you would be there to pick me up. When I would come home from school upset and exhausted from the events of the day, I could cry on your shoulders. Now, as I am far away from home, I think of all you taught me. And I know that wherever I am, no matter what you will always be there for me. I am so grateful that I have the best parents ever.
I miss you.
I love you.
Love you daughter,
Brittney
So the morning of our anniversary I announced to the rest of the family, Ashley, Erin, Marshall and Adrienne that I wanted them to start to take notice of Mum and Dad's special occasions like anniversaries and birthdays and stuff and that we will give in the same vein as we receive.
ReplyDeleteThen I read my big girls note and was full of happiness to receive one of the best gifts ever - appreciation and love.
thankyou for remembering our anniversary, and remembering the things that we taught you. You also taught us many things as well. You are a good be sister and a wonderful daughter. We had a good Sunday today, cooked way to much food, and make to many cherry pies.
ReplyDeleteHave fun in Hamilton, take care of Auntie Hine.
love Mum
